A place of worship has existed on the site of St. Luke’s Church for over 800 years. During that time many thousands of people have come to worship, bringing their concerns as well as their joys and thanksgivings to offer to our Lord.
The stone walls and pillars of this beautiful and ancient building hold within them the history of those generations of people and their relationship with, and experience of, God. Today we continue to meet in the same way. Alongside our regular worship and fellowship, people bring their children for baptism, couples come to make their marriage vows, and families and friends come to say farewell to their loved ones. All of these life events, and much more, are shared in the knowledge of God and his apostles’ sustaining and loving presence. The Parish Church of Farnworth in Widnes seeks, as a Christian community, to share the Gospel message through both our worship and our links with our local community.
The life of the parish revolves around its focus on worshipping the living God, both in the Parish Church of St. Luke and in the Mission Church of Cronton at Cronton CE Primary School where people meet on Sunday morning. You are very welcome to attend any of our services or join in our activities.
